Hon’ble Sri Justice Dalava Subrahmanyam was born on 1.7.1942 at Puttur, Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh, India. He did his Secondary Education at Puttur and Graduated from Loyola College, Madras and took his B.A., Degree in the year 1962. He was a student of Madras Law College and took his B.L., degree in the year 1964 from Madras University. He joined as an apprentice in the Office of Sri K.K. Venugopal, Advocate, Madras, now Senior Counsel of Supreme Court. He enrolled as an Advocate on the rolls of Bar Council of Madras, on 19.10.1964 and appeared along with him till 1966 in the High Court of Madras and later shifted his practice to Chittoor in the year 1966 and practised as an Advocate up to 1973.He was appointed as District Munsif in the year 1973 and entered into service on 9.11.1973. He worked as Munsif Magistrate from 1973 to 1980 and promoted as Subordinate Judge in the year 1980 and worked as District & sessions Judge, Grade-II since 1987 and Grade-I since 22.12.1995. He worked as Special Judge to try cases under SPE and ACB Cases at Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad and worked as Prl. District & Sessions Judge at Anantapur and Ongole. As Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, he organised number of Legal Literacy Camps and conducted several Lok Adalats and large number of criminal cases and compensation claims under Motor Vehicles Act were settled. He worked as Metropolitan Sessions Judge and as Chief Judge, City Civil Court, Hyderabad. Elevated to the Bench of A.P. High Court as an Additional Judge on 13.12.2001. Sworn in as Judge of High Court of Andhra Pradesh w.e.f. 06.03.2003. He was retired on 30.06.2004.
